Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is a 'sung-through' musical written by Time Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber, based on the character of Joseph from the Bible's book of Genesis. This was the first collaboration of Rice and Lloyd Webber to be performed publicly. It is a family-friendly retelling of Joseph, and the familiar themes and catchy music make it one of the most popular productions for schools and amateur groups to stage.

First presented in 1968, the original 35-minute musical did not debut in the West End until 1973, with the full musical following in 1974. It made its Broadway debut in 1982.
